You can edit your Google Business Messages welcome message only from the Google Business profile app on mobile.
You have the option to set it up at the time of activating the messages or later via your account settings.
Edit the welcome message when the Messages feature is activated
Connect to Google Business Profile from the mobile application
Click on the Customers tab at the bottom of the application
Click on Messages at the top of the application
Activate the Messages option
Edit the welcome message by clicking on edit
Write your message
Click on Save
That's it, your welcome message is personalized and you are ready to use Google Business Messages.
Edit the welcome message from the Google Business Profile settings
If you already have Google's Business Messages enabled, you can edit your welcome message. Here are the steps to follow:
Log in to Google Business Profile from the mobile app
Click on Messages at the top of the app
Click on the 3 little dots at the top right of the app
Select Message Settings
Click on edit your welcome message
Write your welcome message
Click on Save
